2010 INWHE DISTINGUISHED INSTITUTIONAL AWARD
The Illinois Network for Women in Higher Education (INWHE) is committed to identifying, advancing, developing the leadership of, and supporting women administrators, faculty and staff in higher education, as well as women in related higher education organizations and associations throughout the state. INWHE works in concert with the Office of Women in Higher Education (OWHE) of the American Council on Education, to provide educational materials and address higher education issues at the regional, state and national levels.
To advance its mission, INWHE annually recognizes one Illinois institution that demonstrates, though its policies and practices, exceptional and innovative accomplishments in the development of women leaders at all levels of the institution.
- In 2010 INWHE is requesting nominations from institutions that implement innovative practices specifically related to mentoring programs for women at all levels of the organization.
Nominations are accepted from an individual or a team from an institution. Each nomination should be submitted by March 29, 2010, and include the following:
- Nomination form - required
- Letter of rationale – required. Please limit rationale to 5 pages or less.
- News releases, publications, other supporting materials, additional letters supporting the nomination – optional
The Executive Board of INWHE will review all applications and select the institution whose programs demonstrate creativity in mentoring women for advancement, effectiveness in developing their leadership skills and success in integrating women into core institutional planning and operations.
The Distinguished Institution Award will be presented at the INWHE Annual Conference to be held at Robert Morris College, Chicago, Illinois on April 23, 2010. A representative(s) from the institution will be invited to present at the conference on their mentoring program.
The 2009 INWHE Institutional Awards were bestowed on Robert Morris University and to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
